Sepe was another artist that contributed to this year's ARTURb residency in Lagos, Portugal. The Polish artist recently finished this large mural titled "What Goes Around Comes Around".
This narrative piece is artist's comment on the history of Portugal that from being one of the biggest colonial powers is nowadays experiencing emigration problems. After years of discovering, exploring and exploiting other countries around the world, the roles have changed, so Portuguese started to emigrate searching for jobs and better places to live. His expressive, almost comics like style and recognizable line work, in combination with the old house it's painted on, is emphasizing it's reference to times past. Dimmed, almost transparent pastel color palette and blurred, unfinished elements, are also adding to this effect.
