Preview – Priest – ALTARed EGO @ Mecka Gallery – Brooklyn, NYC

Tomorrow night New Orleans street artist Priest will make his solo NYC debut at the brand new Mecka Gallery in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Priest’s works presented mostly include large format paintings on canvas combining a dry whit that plays off classic American stereotypes.  Noteworthy pieces include the classic “I Heart NY” logo replacing the heart with a women dropping her panties, and the classic cherub babies enjoying a night at the gentlemens club.

Priest does not stop at traditional paint on canvas, but additionally included an installation entitled “Dumpster Diver” which combines a stencil of a diver image above a pile of NYC garbage below.

The first 50 patrons will receive a hand embellished and signed spray can so get there early!

Additionally 50 hand-embellished prints will be for sale in the $100 range!

Moreover, Priest will be having a “Yard Sale” on site where he will be accepting offers on anything that is not glued down!!  This is a dream come true for any haggler.

See you tomorrow and get there early because many for the pieces have already sold and the rest will follow post haste.
